BLACK SNOW | LERATO | 2016
For a long time I was still trying to find an art “style”a look or something I could call my own, so I was experimenting a lot with different things, I actually still am but there was nothing consistent about my work, I tried designing a logo to solve that but I am no graphic designer so it looked very amateurish, Black Snow was still morphing into what it is now and I didn’t even know what to call the pieces I had already painted. So I gathered up a bunch of references and asked a good friend of mine to design a logo for me, the result is what my current logo is.
It was first used with Lerato, a name I used as a place holder for a day or two after the painting was done but it sounded perfect, and I would go establish the blue print for naming all of Black Snow, This is how all my paintings got to received African names. Funny enough the sketch for the painting was also a bit old, In my original concept she was going to have all these cool tattoos all over her body, but ya so, I was bored and wanted to play a bit and I surprised myself with how far I had come, In less than 6 hours the painting was done. head over to the hyper-lapse tab to view my painting process
