BLACK SNOW | DINEO |2015
I have been told on several occasions that I too hard on myself, and after several reviews of this painting, for the first time I agree. Perhaps sitting with it for so long has dulled my appreciation for it, along with forcibly trying to be humble about how fire my work is, yes I said it…FIRE. You see that mane she is wearing on her head? it took me days just to get it to look that dense, with that level of detail, the form and volume in her eyes, and my favorite thin…the Dandelions.
I just realised just how much I love those earlier pieces, there exists a certain quality about them I just cannot replicate, and for that reason are probably the most valuable in the entire series
