NOMUSA | BLACKSNOW |2017
Creating good art is hard, irrespective of what level you deem yourself to be at. I found that out on my fifth try painting Nomusa, specifically because there are just certain things which I neglected to practise over the years and it started showing. I felt a gap, one which I haven’t felt since I was still a beginner, between what I am creating and what I want to create. The scarier part was that I found (still do) what I was doing rather boring and tedious, mainly because the growth is not as visible anymore, and as a result I sat with this painting throughout the year not really knowing what to do with it. The result is a piece that is finished but not at all perfect, and despite of that one that I am proud of non the less.
